To keep or not to keep…

artwork

One thing that I absolutely love about Turner’s school is that they do some sort of artwork Every. Single. Day. What’s even more impressive is that somehow he always comes home clean, with no trace of paint, markers, or glue on his clothes or hands. I don’t know how the teachers do it! Anyway, I leave the school at the end of each week with a big stack of artwork that he has created for me, but my struggle is what to do with these things. I don’t necessarily want to keep them forever, but I do feel a bit of guilt if I just immediately throw them in the trash…unless there’s glitter involved. The glitter artwork does not pass go and does not collect $200. It goes straight into the trash! #ain’tnobodygottimeforthat

I’ve decided that the easiest thing to do that seems to be a win-win is to take a picture of the cute artwork that Turner makes and just create a photo album for it all on my phone. When I get enough pictures, I’ll create Shutterfly book or Groovebook, and I’ll be able to turn his artwork into a book that we can keep forever. I wish that I would have been doing this all along, but I’m glad that I’ve decided to start preserving these memories now.

I’m curious – what do you do with your toddler’s artwork? Keep or Toss?
