I recently learned about a new, free app called Sworkit. It provides personalized video workouts that you can do at home with no equipment required. I generally struggle to figure out what workouts to do, so I thought I would give it a shot.
Setting up an account only takes a couple of minutes. Just enter general data about yourself (gender, height, weight, etc…). Select your goal(s). Then choose the type of workout you want to try – Strength, Cardio, Yoga, or Stretching. Set your timer and press play! It’s very user friendly, and in my opinion, very effective!
The app takes you through a series of short video workouts that are very easy to follow. The first workout I tried was a 5 minute core strengthening exercise. Even after just 5 minutes, I could tell that I had accomplished something! I then tried a 5 minute cardio workout that was also very effective.
Just 10 minutes of using this app felt far more effective than 30 minutes on the bike or rowing machine for me. I love that I can choose to focus on certain areas and really customize my workouts. The app also has tools for you to track your progress toward your goals. I definitely recommend giving it a try. I’m hooked!
