Technically, “here” for me is North Texas. I work for a large city as a Sr. Community Development Coordinator. That’s where my “here” is for 40 hours per week.I get to help low-income homeowners go through a process to receive federal assistance to make repairs to their homes. It’s rewarding and I enjoy it. But it’s not my favorite place.
My favorite “here” is at the home that I share with my family. That’s where my heart is. I absolutely love our home. I enjoy cleaning/organizing/decorating and all of the mundane household chores. I enjoy cooking and baking and being in my kitchen. I really enjoy the time spent playing in the floor with Turner and Ally, or relaxing on the couch with Aaron. Home is where I want to be.
Maybe I should clarify. I don’t want to be a stay-at-home mom. I love my son fiercely and always crave more time with him, but I see how he flourishes at his school, so I don’t want to change that. I do, however, want to change my setting. I have always had a desire to be self-employed, and I’ve got hundreds of ideas swirling around in my head on how to achieve that goal. I want to get from here to….well, there. On this blog, I’ll be sharing bits and pieces of my daily life and my journey of finding my “there.” Join me?
